Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we go to ride the ATVs?

Can we come to the TC Trailsports' shop to ask questions in person?

What is the minimum age to ride?

  • All riders must be 18+ with a valid driver's license

Can a passenger ride with me?

  • These are single rider only ATVs, no passengers allowed

Do I need prior experience to ride?

  • Nope, we have a thorough rider orientation and safety meeting with you before the trail ride.  We will go over the ORV trail system layout, safety equipment fitting, GPS software usage, and the operational controls of the Honda ATV. Following this we will do a skills check with you to make sure you are confident before going on your ride.

What is included in your rental price?

  • Your own awesome Honda ATV, helmet, goggles, GPS mapping system, all fuel, and a great time. There are no hidden costs!

  • Gloves are not included and we recommended that you bring yours to ride. We do sell gloves for a minimal charge at the rental checkout.

My friends/family want to come but do not want to ride, is there something for them to do?

  • Yeah! It just so happens that the North Country Trail is at the same trailhead. There is a beautiful lake about a half mile down the hiking trail. Also, the VASA MTB staging area is about 3 miles west of here, or there are plenty of trees to hang a hammock from and dig into a book.

What is the $500 per ATV deposit authorization for?

  • It is a temporary hold authorization for $500 per ATV that will be placed on your credit card prior to your ride. Your credit card will not be charged unless the equipment is returned damaged from the result of a collision and/or improper use that causes cosmetic damage.

  • Should you exceed your paid rental time slot, or if the ATV needs to be recovered due to going off provided mapped ORV trails and getting stuck, you will be subject to fees.

What if you are running late or no show to your booking?

  • We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your allotted time slot. This allows the time needed to get riders signed in, fitted for gear, orientated, and skills checked prior to hitting the trails. This check-off procedure is mandatory and can not be sped up to accommodate a late arrival. Arriving late will eat into your paid rental time.

  • If you do not show during your booking, you will forfeit your purchased rental time slot.

What is our weather cancellation policy?

  • We ride rain or shine unless there are extreme weather conditions. In the event of extreme weather, a full refund will be given to you.

What is your refund policy?

  • The policy is explained in detail here.

Are we allowed to ride on other non ORV trails?

  • No, and we at TC Trailsports fully support "Tread Lightly". The ORV trails will be clearly marked/mapped. You will have plenty of excellent ORV trail options to explore. If you are caught riding on non ORV trails by law enforcement you will be subject to a fine.

Will I get dirty while riding?

  • If the trail conditions are even slightly damp there will be very minimal dust. If they are on the drier side there will be dust. You will not get muddy on these trails.

  • Rumor has it that you just might be able to find some really nice big lakes around TC that are perfect for a post ride dip.

Do you ever offer guided tours?

  • Currently all rentals are self-guided and the ATVs come equipped with very good GPS mapping systems. We will give you some good recommendations depending on what type of riding you want to do.

What if we have a group of people that want to ride together but there are not enough spots available?

  • Currently we run 4 ATVs per time slot due to trailering logistics. Contact us if you have a larger group to see what options we may have.
